Ready to Serve
Briged Bakti Malaysia (BBM) was established to embody the true spirit of “al-Birr”, which encompasses comprehensive goodness, through structured, strategic, and impactful initiatives. This principle serves as the foundation for all Briged Bakti Malaysia Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (BBMWPKL) efforts in contributing meaningfully to national social development through welfare and volunteer-based programmes.
BBMWPKL is committed to nurturing a generation of professional, disciplined, and dedicated volunteers who uphold the duty of fardu kifayah, particularly in addressing the needs of the underserved. By offering well organised outreach and capacity building programmes, BBMWPKL aims to foster active community engagement, especially among youth, in cultivating values of service, empathy, and collective responsibility.
In facing today’s rising social challenges, BBMWPKL functions as a proactive platform for youth empowerment channeling their energy into beneficial activities that prevent involvement in destructive or negative behaviours. With the support of strategic partners and the wider public, BBMWPKL continues to advance as a key driver in enhancing social wellbeing, national unity, and the spirit of humanitarianism across all segments of society.
Briged Bakti Malaysia (BBM) originated from a state-level initiative known as Briged Bakti Negeri Kelantan (BBNK), which began in 1991. Its early operations focused on youth engagement at the secondary school level through the formation of Briged Bakti Remaja (BBR), a recognised school uniform body.
On 22 January 2010, ten state branches of BBM were officially registered with the Registrar of Youth Organisations (PPPM) Putrajaya, including the Federal Territory Branch, which originally encompassed Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan.
In 2023, BBM Kuala Lumpur took a bold step onto the international stage by launching a humanitarian and dakwah mission in the Camotes Islands, Cebu, Philippines. This marked a significant milestone in BBM’s global outreach, reflecting its commitment to service beyond national borders.
Later, in 2024, BBM Putrajaya formally established its own independent branch, marking a strategic restructuring that allowed BBM Kuala Lumpur to focus more directly on its own regional initiatives and community development efforts within the city.
Briged Bakti Malaysia Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur (BBMWPKL) continues to remain active through various programmes and initiatives, covering areas such as welfare, community outreach, education, youth leadership, and humanitarian missions at both local and international levels.
